Family of Little People
Once your child has a few different Little People, they can create a small family. Help them by suggesting they mimic the actions of your own family. Where do the Little People parents work? How do they greet each other at dinner time? The Little People baby needs to be fed and taken care of by the adults. These sorts of games imitating reality will keep your little person busy for hours.
Little People City
After your child has amassed a large collection of Little People and their corresponding vehicles and playsets, suggest that they bring them all together to interact. Have the child practice spacial and social understandings by creating a small city. Let the child set up the city and show you how it works. Ask the child what each person does and how they depend on one another to keep the city going. Your little city planner will learn about the basics of society while playing!
Little People Parties
Most children own a few Little People and would enjoy mingling with your child's Little People. Set up a play date where the children bring their Little People and accessories together. The children will learn how to act, and can practice appropriate social behavior through their figures. In addition, they can practice their sharing and socializing skills with the other children attending the Little People party. Refreshments and themed party supplies are optional.
Interactive Web Games
It's the 21st century, so for those children more interested in computers or the Internet, Fisher-Price offers several free and educational games on their website. The wide range of six separate games challenge a child's still developing memory and cognitive abilities. Games like "Animal Sounds" or "Shapes and Puzzles" use the same basic premises as traditional learning games, but allow children to learn manual dexterity and simple computer skills.
