How to Make a Little Bed for a Teddy Bear

Stuffed toy bears, or teddy bears, are among the most popular toys loved by children. Children consider a stuffed toy bear as a cute object of affection and typically play with them by treating them as if they have human traits. Toy furniture, such as a small bed, makes it more fun for children to play with teddy bears. Build a small bed for a teddy bear with materials that are usually found around your home.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a rectangular piece of three-quarter inch plywood measuring 7 inches long and 8 inches wide, then label it as "Wood A." Label one eight-inch side of the wood as "End 1" and the end opposite to End 1 as "End 2." Use a wood saw to cut the wood.

    • 2

Cut another piece of rectangular plywood measuring 8 inches wide and 12 inches long, then label it as "Wood B." Label one eight-inch side of the wood as "End 3" and the end opposite to End 2 as "End 4."

    • 3

Cut a third piece of rectangular plywood measuring 5 inches wide and 8 inches long, then label it as "Wood C." Label one eight-inch side of Wood C as "End 5" and the side opposite to End 3 as "End 6."

    • 4

Measure 4 3/4 inches from End 1 of Wood A and draw a line parallel to End 1. Label this line as "Line A." Measure 2 3/4 inches from End 3 of Wood C and draw a line parallel to End 3. Label this line as "Line B."

    • 5

Lay Wood A flat on top of your table and stand Wood B upright on top of Wood A so that End 3 is aligned with the Line A. Position Wood B so that it sits in the section between Line A and End 2. Nail Wood A onto Wood B.

    • 6

Lay Wood C flat on top of your table and stand Wood B upright on top of Wood C so that End 4 is aligned with the Line B. Position Wood B so that it sits in the section between Line B and End 4. Nail Wood C onto Wood B.

    • 7

File the corners of End 1 and End 5 with a wood file to make it semi-rounded, then fill any gaps or cracks with wood putty. Smooth all edges and surfaces with medium-grit sandpaper. Paint the small bed according to your design and preferred color using oil-based enamel applied with a paintbrush. Allow the paint to dry following the paint manufacturer's recommended drying period.

    • 8

Cut a small piece of square soft cloth measuring 12 inches long and 12 inches wide, then place this cloth on top of the small bed to serve as its toy bed sheet. Cut another piece of soft cloth having a different color and measuring 11 inches on each side. Place this cloth on top of the first cloth to serve as a toy blanket.
