How to Make Curtains for a Barbie Doll House

Barbie doll houses are small-scale houses in which children can put Barbie dolls. Although they are children̵7;s play toys, Barbie doll houses contain a sense of realism. Architecture and décor is made to look real, as are the windows that are built into the walls. To add an extra level of realism, make curtains to hang on the windows. Barbie products are expensive enough, so save a few bucks and make your curtains from old bed sheets.

Things You'll Need

Bed sheets
Seam ripper
Scissors
Measuring tape or ruler
Chopsticks
Hot glue gun

Instructions

  Cut open the sides of the seams on the top and bottom of the sheet with a seam ripper to form sleeves or pockets. If you do not have a seam ripper, use a pair of scissors. Do not cut the seam down the length of the sheet, only the sides.

  Measure the height and width of the Barbie doll house window.

  Cut pieces of the sheet to match the measurements of the window. The open seam is the top of the curtain.

  Cut a chopstick or thin wooden dowel slightly wider than the width of the window. The chopstick is the curtain rod.

  Insert the chopstick into the pocket in the seam of the sheet.

  Center the chopstick on the top of the window.

  Secure the chopstick to the top of the window with a hot glue gun.
