How to Tune Up a Nitro Turbo Big Block

Nitro turbo big block engines are used in remote control cars and trucks. These engines use special fuel to power the engine. After a while, the engine breaks down and requires a tune up. A good tune up keeps the engine running smoothly, increasing its longevity.

Instructions

Clean and oil the air filter. Find the air filter on your RC car and remove it. Wipe a mixture of soap and water onto the filter. Dry the filter off once it has been completely coated with soap and water. Rub oil onto the filter.

    • 2

Drain the nitro fuel if it has been sitting in the tank for a year or more. Old fuel corrodes quickly and eats through the fuel line and tank. Pour the old fuel out and replace it with fresh nitro fuel.

    • 3

Replace the glow plug. A faulty glow plug causes the engine to idle improperly or shut off. Replacing the glow plug reinvigorates the engine.
