How to Make a Bubble Stick by Using a Hanger

Bubbles are beloved by children of all ages, and preschoolers are particularly fascinated by the pretty, shiny floating orbs. Bottled bubbles that include a bubble stick are readily available at nearly any retail store that carries even a few toys. Even if you create homemade bubble solutions for your kids, you'll find it difficult, if not impossible, to purchase the bubble sticks without paying for the soap solution as well. You can make bubble sticks from cheap wire coat hangers that you probably already have around the house. The real bonus for the kids is that this activity will allow them to create truly monster-size mega-bubbles.

Instructions

    • 1

Bend a wire coat hanger into a smooth circle.

    • 2

Squeeze the two kinked areas at the top of the twisted neck of the hanger together with pliers to define the large circle.

    • 3

Bend the twisted neck upward at a 90-degree angle. This will form a handle to facilitate dipping.

    • 4

Pour some bubble soap solution into a shallow pan that is large enough to accommodate the hanger bubble stick.

    • 5

Dip the hanger bubble stick into the bubble soap. Wave the stick gently through the air to create colossal bubbles.
