Instructions
Grip each side of the yo-yo with your hands and twist the sides in opposite directions to loosen the yo-yo. Continue twisting until the two sides come apart.
Remove the string from around the ball bearing and stretch out the string to find any knots or irregularities. Untie any knots and make sure the string is ready to be placed back on the yo-yo.
Open the loop at the end of the string and fit it around the ball bearing.
Insert the ball-bearing into the other half of the yo-yo, and hold that side still while twisting the other side to tighten both halves together again.
Place your index finger across the gap between the sides of the yo-yo. Wrap the string around the ball bearing and over your index finger. This keeps the string from twirling endlessly around the ball bearing, allowing you to finish winding the string.
Remove your finger and continue to wind the string around the yo-yo's ball bearing until completely wound.
