Kinds of Beyblade

Beyblade is a spinning top game modeled after the four-season Japanese anime series of the same name. As each season aired -- Beyblade, V-Force, G Revolution and Metal Fusion - tops that were featured in the cartoon were made available for Beybladers to use in battle. Within these Beyblade generations there are four main kinds of tops Beyblade fanatics collect to take into the arena.

Attack Type
- Attack type Beyblades are aggressive tops whose performance goal is to end a battle quickly. This is done by knocking an opponent out of the arena or hitting it enough times or in the right spot to make the Beyblade slow to a stop. Some attack type Beyblades are: Aquario, Storm Pegasus, Lightning L-Drago, Big Bang Pegasus, Capricorn, Random Booster Light Vol. 1, Storm Eagle and Poison Pegasus.
Defense Type
- Defense types are made to defeat attack types. These Beyblades are heavy, strong and able to take constant hits without suffering defeat. Poison Zurafa, Aries, Rock Leone, Escolpio, Grand Ketos, Twisted Tempo and Rock Orso are defense type tops.
Stamina Type
- Stamina type Beyblades are lightweight and are able to spin for long periods of time. They are constructed to last throughout the most intense battles, taking hit after hit without losing much energy. The challenge is keeping the lightweight tops in the arena. The stamina type Beyblades are Earth Virgo, Flame Libra, Flame Sagittario, Random Booster Vol. 5 Grand Ketos, Vulcan Herculeo, Pisces, Burn Fireblaze and Sagittario.
Balance Type
- Balance type Beyblades have a combination of attack, defense or stamina in battles. That means they are constructed using design elements from each of the other type Beyblades. Dark Wolf, Dark Gasher, Evil Gemios, Earth Eagle, Storm Sagittario and Bull are balance type Beyblades.
