Silly Putty Instructions

Shape and roll your Silly Putty into the shape of a ball and bounce it on the floor or against the wall. It will bounce just like a rubber ball.

Flatten the putty and find some newspaper or comic book print. Avoid soy-based inks as they tend not to copy as easily. Press the Silly Putty onto the print. Peel the Silly Putty off and see copied print that transferred onto the putty. Use the Wall Street Journal. Stretch the putty to distort the images to see what kind of images you can create.

Float your Silly Putty. Roll the Silly Putty into little balls. Fill a large bowl with 3 cups of water and add 1/4 cup of vinegar and 1/4 cup of baking soda. Drop the balls of putty into the bowl and watch them float. The reaction is caused from the balls of gas that form and attach to the balls. As balls of gas dissipate, the Silly Putty balls will sink to the bottom.

Chill your putty in the refrigerator for two hours to create a more solid form. Take your putty out and manipulate it into different creations as you would do with clay. Take the majority of the putty and leave one quarter of the putty on the side. Roll the bigger putty piece in a ball. Take the smaller pieces and roll two small balls for the eyes and stick on the bigger ball and roll the remaining piece into snake form to create a mouth and put that on the larger ball to create a person's head.

Stick your Silly Putty to the side of the refrigerator. Over a period of days, watch your putty begin to turn into liquid form and start oozing down the side. It turns into liquid faster if it's in a warmer atmosphere.

Make a Silly Putty ring. Take a small piece of your putty and place it around your finger in a circle and link it like a ring. Attach a piece of colored putty in a particular shape onto the ring. Manipulate the shape until you have the one you want. Place the ring in the freezer for on hour. Take the ring out and place it on your finger.
