How to Make a Superball With Latex

Superball is the brand name for rubber balls manufactured by Wham-o. These balls can be bounced to great heights, and have been found in toy stores for decades. Rather than buying a Superball, you can have fun with your kids by making your own. All you need is liquid latex from a costume shop, household vinegar and a cup to mix them in. You can even customize the size of your Superball by varying the amount of materials you use.

Things You'll Need

Liquid latex
Plastic cup
Vinegar
Craft stick
Sink
Paper towel

Instructions

  Pour a small amount of liquid latex into a plastic cup. The amount depends on the size you want your ball to be.

  Mix an equal amount of vinegar into the latex, stirring constantly with a craft stick.

  Continue stirring until the mixture begins to congeal.

  Remove the congealed blob with your fingers and work it into a round shape. Continue to work the latex until it can hold its shape.

  Hold the ball under running water, squeezing out any trapped vinegar and air bubbles.

  Pat the ball dry with a paper towel.
