Cut 1 inch of straw. Apply glue to most of the straw.
Insert the glued end of the straw into the Nerf dart as far as possible. Allow to dry. This makes the dart stiffer, helping to maintain its shape so it can fly farther with ease. It also allows the gun to smoothly fire the dart.
Wrap electrical tape around the dart's tip where the rubber part meets the foam part. Do not cover the head of the dart with tape. The tape helps maintains the shape of the dart, so the dart gun will fire more effectively and not jam as often.
