Installing LeapFrog Connect
Download LeapFrog Connect's installation file online. If you have the installation CD that came with Violet, insert the disc into the computer's drive and follow the prompts to install the application. Make sure the computer is connected to the Internet.
Click "Run" when prompted and select the license agreement. The file will install.
Click "Continue" and select the "My Pals" toy option.
Insert the USB cable into Violet's USB port. The USB port is hidden inside Violet. Pull apart the velcro on the back of Violet to access the USB port. Insert the USB cable into the port.
Click "Set Up Your My Pal" and connect Violet to the computer's USB port when prompted.
Create a LeapFrog Parent Account. Enter your name, email address, password and year of birth. Click "Agree and Continue."
Click "Who Plays with My Pals" and enter your child's name, month and year of birth, grade level and gender and hit "Save." Then select the "Finish" button.
Select the "My Pals" toy when prompted.
Customizing Violet
Open LeapFrog Connect from the computer's "Program Files." Make sure all other programs are closed on your system.
Click on the "My Pals Scout and Violet" box to enter the Scout and Violet home page.
Select the "Get Started" button to start customizing Violet.
Enter your child's first name on the "My Name" page and click "Find Audio." Select your child's name. If your child's name isn't available, choose another name that is close or select "Choose a Nickname." Click to listen to the pronunciation of your child's name and click "Save to My Pal."
Select the "Continue to My Picks" and choose your child's favorite color, animal and food. Click "Save to My Pal."
Click the "Continue to My Music" option and select up to five daytime songs and five nighttime lullabies from the list. Click "Save to My Pal" and the songs will download to Violet's hard drive. Disconnect Violet from the computer and press her paw to hear her sing or talk.
