How to Store Kids' Stuffed Animals

From the moment your child is born, it seems that everyone wants to give her a stuffed animal. To a child, each animal is special, so trying to get rid of some may evoke a tantrum. Keeping the animals, however, can result in clutter. Create a special storage place to avoid both hassles. You can choose from a number of storage methods. Some allow the child to get the animals out by herself, while others require your help. Some storage methods keep the stuffed animals in great condition so that your child can pass them on to her own kids.

Instructions

    • 1

Store the animals in a toy chest. Set the chest up in the child's room and require her to keep the animals in the chest when not playing with them. Buy a toy chest that is bigger than you currently need so that it will accommodate future animals that your child acquires.

Purchase a vacuum-tight storage bag from your local store. Fill the bag with animals, suck out the air and seal it. This keeps the animals stored in a compact manner and keeps them in great condition.

    • 3

Set up a bookshelf or cupboard in the child's room specifically for the animals. Require the child to arrange the animals on the shelf so that they are sitting up correctly. Keep the animals on the shelf or in the cupboard when they are not being played with.

Buy a hammock and secure it in a corner of the child's bedroom near the ceiling. Allow the hammock to droop into a "U" shape so that it cradles the animals. This is an ideal way to keep your child out of the animals. She will need to ask for your help to get them down.
