Assembly Instructions for a Handy Manny Workbench

"Handy Manny" is a popular children's cartoon. Manny uses his many tool friends to teach children at home how to fix things. He speaks both Spanish and English and uses the Spanish version of common English words to help children learn both languages. There are many toys that have been marketed using the Handy Manny character, one of which is the Handy Manny workbench that is part of the Manny's Repair Shop marketed by Mattel. The workbench includes the bench, a plastic version of the character Manny and a plastic drill and saw.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather all four legs that will support the workbench.

    • 2

Fit one leg onto each corner of the shelf. The shelf sits about halfway down the legs and resembles an "X" shape. The middle of each leg is designed to fit into the corners of the shelf. Make sure the base of each leg is sitting on the floor and the "V" shape on the shelf is pointing upward.

    • 3

Insert one screw into the hole on the outside of each leg to attach the leg to the shelf. Use a Philips-head screwdriver to tighten the screw.

    • 4

Push the workbench top down onto the knobs on the top of each leg. The top of all four legs is designed to fit into the four corners on the underside of the workbench top. The workbench top should "snap" in place.

    • 5

Rotate the assembled portion of the workbench so the side of the workbench top with slots in it is farthest away from you. These slots will accommodate the tools and Manny.

    • 6

Push the toy drill into the left slot. Push the Manny figure, facing you, into the middle slot. Push the saw into the right slot. All pieces will "snap" into place when secure.

    • 7

Remove the two screws securing the battery door with a Philips screwdriver. The battery door is located behind the workbench top. Remove the battery bay door.

    • 8

Insert three AA batteries into the battery compartment. Replace the battery door and reinsert the screws.

    • 9

Slide the "Power" switch, located near the battery compartment, on to use the workbench.
