How to Get My Electric Disney Car Track to Work

Your electric Disney car track connects to a battery pack or transformer using push-in plug connectors. The electricity then flows around the metal slotted track so when you put your Disney car in the slot and use the variable hand controller your car goes around the track at your desired speed. The problem is the track is made of separate interconnecting pieces and you only need one bad connection and your Disney car stops dead. Use a voltmeter to track down any bad connections and you can soon get your Disney car track to work.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the power that supplies electricity to the Disney car track. Remove the two plugs that connect to the track. Each plug has two metal pins.

    • 2

Test that power is getting to the track by placing the metal tip on the end of the two wires from the voltmeter onto the two pins on the plug. Read the meter. If you get a reading you know it's the Disney car track that's the problem. If you don't get a reading, then you need to replace the batteries in the power unit or replace the transformer.

    • 3

Replace the plugs into the plug connectors on the Disney car track. The track has two slots that have a metal strips each side of the slots. Place the tips from the two voltmeter wires onto each side of one of the slots on the strip of track the plugs from the power source connect to. Read the meter. If you get a reading you know that one slot has power.

    • 4

Test the other slot. If you don't get a reading on one or both of the slots then you need to replace that strip of track. If you get a reading for both slots then move onto the next strip of track.

    • 5

Repeat the process for each slot on the next strip of track. If you get readings from both slots each time, move onto the next and so on. As soon as you get one or two slots on a strip of track that doesn't show a reading on the meter you've found the problem.

    • 6

Disconnect the strip of track. Gently clean the metal connectors using a wire brush then reconnect the track again; it's often just a poor connection between the strips of track that stop your Disney car track working.

    • 7

Test the strip of track using the meter again. If you don't get a reading, it's best to replace the strip of track and then you'll find your Disney car track works again.
