Things You'll Need
Instructions
Paratrooper
Cut four lengths of string. Each must be 12 inches long. Tie them to each of the napkins' corners, without tearing the napkin.
Tie the four loose ends of the strings onto the hands of the soldier.
Test the parachute by letting it fall from the reasonable height. Make sure there is no strong wind blowing and be careful to hold the napkin expanded before letting the soldier fall.
If you don't have a plastic soldier, use a cork. Paint it in colors your child likes and tie the strings around it before testing it.
Whirling Airplane
Design the airplane on the cardboard by drawing its wings, the side of its cabin and the tail each as a separate piece. Also, paint them the color you like on this stage.
Cut out the cardboard parts. Don't forget to open a narrow slot for the wings on the cabin. This task must be done by an adult to avoid injuries.
Assemble your airplane by placing the wings through the slot on the cabin. Firmly connect them.
Punch a hole to the tip of the airplane and tie the end of a 20-inch-long string to it. Tie the other end of the string around a pencil.
Children can now enjoy this toy by spinning the airplane around outside. Tell them to be careful and hold the pencil as high as they can each time they spin the cardboard airplane.
Coffee Can Drum
Remove the lid from the coffee can and customize the side of the can. For better results, use construction paper to cover the side, as you will have difficulty applying paint directly onto the can.
Attach felt over the open top of the can and tie it firmly with string. Stretch the felt as much as possible and trim it around the string.
Push a foam ball into the end of a pencil, doing this to two pencils to use as drum sticks. You can play without the foam balls, but if you do you will risk tearing the felt.
Test the drum together with your children. Warn them not play the drum too hard or the felt will tear and the toy will be destroyed.
