GameTime Information

Playing on the playground can be the highlight of a child's day. On the play equipment, children are able to use their imaginations and explore faraway places, make beautiful music or discover a pirate's treasure without leaving the platform. The GameTime playground equipment encourages children of all ages and abilities to be active while stretching their imaginations.
  1. Play Systems

    • GameTime, a manufacturer of playground equipment, manufactures four types of play systems. The systems are the premium play system, the value play system, the modern play system and the early childhood play system. The playground location determines the play system used.

The premium equipment is the most durable equipment. It is for high-traffic areas such as public schools and government facilities. All the systems except the early childhood system can hold 25 children at one time. The modern play system is a ground-level system. This system gives the playground an urban look. The equipment is directly bolted together. The early childhood play system is best for preschools and private homes. It holds between 10 and 50 children at one time

    Age Groups

    • The type of playground equipment manufactured depends on the age group. GameTime offers play equipment for two different age groups, 5 to 12 and 2 to 5. The premium plays system and the value play system is designed for both age groups. The modern play system is for the 5 to 12 age group. The early childhood system is for children 2 to 5. Its play-system platform does not exceed 5 feet. The other play system, other than the modern play system, have platforms of up to 8 feet.

    Curriculum-Based Equipment

    • GameTime offers playground equipment to help reinforce the concepts learned in the classroom. The TouchMath Activity Panel helps to develop computational skills, provide physical activity and promote social interaction. Students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade benefit from the equipment. The eye-level panels display numbers in bright easy-to-read colors.

GT Jams allows children to integrate their love for learning on the playground. Depending on the equipment, a selection for traditional African and Caribbean instruments is available. Instruments such as the bongos, whistles and maracas are available.

    Equipment for Disabilities

    • Realizing that sometimes children are reluctant to play on the playground because of physical or developmental limitations, GameTime helped to develop playground equipment in hopes of encouraging everyone to play, regardless of their limitations. Collaborating with the National Center for Boundless Playgrounds, barriers on the playground are being eliminated for children with all types of disabilities. For example, the equipment has double-wide ramps. The ramp size allows children with mobility devices to pass each other without having to wait for the other to clear the path.
