Hasbro Easy Bake Oven Directions

The Easy Bake Oven was introduced to America's children in 1963. About 500,000 ovens were sold in the first year, according to Hasbro, the toy's manufacturer. The product went through 11 adaptations in almost 50 years, returning to the original design in 2007. Parental supervision is required to avoid accident or injury when using the oven. Followed instructions closely to maximize baking success. The package contains the Easy Bake Oven, utensil, pans and baking mixes. Additional baking mixes can be purchased separately.

Things You'll Need

Easy Bake Oven
Measuring spoon
Spatula
Baking pans
Warming cups
Pan tool
Phillips screw driver
Standard 100-watt light bulb
Flour
Non-stick cooking spray
Mixing bowls
Potholders or oven mitts

Instructions

Preparation

  Remove four screws from the light bulb door at the rear of the oven with a Phillips screwdriver.

  Screw the light bulb into the threaded apparatus. Position the door and tighten screws.

  Plug in the oven. Pre-heat for 15 minutes.
Yellow Cake

  Grease baking pans with cooking spray. Empty the yellow cake into a bowl and mix with 1 1/2 tsp. of water. Mix well and pour into cake pan. Shake the pan slightly to even out the batter.

  Use the pusher end of the pan tool to navigate the pan into the slots and baking chamber. Close the oven door and bake for 12 minutes.

  Push pan into the cooling chamber with the pan tool. Let it rest for 10 minutes. Use holder end of the pan tool to remove the pan from the chamber. Use potholders to turn pan over onto a plate. Frost cake when completely cooled.
Cookies

  Grease pan with cooking spray. Empty the cookie mix into a bowl and mix with 3/4 tsp. of water. Stir and form into a ball.

  Separate dough into six pieces and roll each one into a ball. Flatten three pieces, place in a pan and bake for 10 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes in the cooling chamber.

  Repeat the process to bake three more cookies. Use the pan tool as above. Unplug the oven when baking is finished.
