How to Identify Playmobil Figures

What began in 1876 with a gentleman named Andreas Brandstätter who started a lock and metal fitting company in Germany would later spur the idea for the first Playmobil prototype by Horst Brandstätter in 1958. Playmobil was introduced publicly in 1974 in Nuremberg at the International Toy Fair and later hit shelves that fall. At just under 3 inches, the Playmobil figures were precisely made to fit a child's hand. With more than 250 current toys, there are resources to identify Playmobil figures.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit the Playmobil website, Playmobil.com. Select your preferred language. Then click on the Online Shop tab at the top of the page.

    • 2

Review the list of figure and accessory themes. If you know the theme of your figure, click on the theme box. For example, "Wedding" or "Zoo" or "Vacation" or "Rescue." Click on "Rescue" and scroll through the product line to find your figure such as "Fireman" under the "Rescue" product line.

Look at identifying marks on your figure if you do not know the theme. If the figure has a cowboy hat or a rifle, start with the "Western" theme. If the figure has a bridal gown or tuxedo, visit the "Wedding" theme.
