What Is the Difference Between the Radio Flyer Ulitmate Family Wagon & the Radio Flyer Pathfinder?

The Radio Flyer company began in 1917, and has since been creating wagons and other riding toys for children. Two of the popular models in 2010 are the Ultimate Family Wagon and the Pathfinder Wagon. Each wagon sports some unique features.
  1. Features

    • Both the Pathfinder and the Ultimate Family Wagon are plastic wagons made by Radio Flyer. They both have flip seats, allowing the user a variety of storage and seating possibilities. Both wagons feature seat belts for children. Both models have cupholders in the seating area for the children.

    Pathfinder Wagon

    • Features unique to the Pathfinder Wagon include the body length, which is slightly shorter than the Ultimate at 39 inches. It is a half inch wider than the Ultimate, and 3 1/4 inches deeper, giving it an extra storage compartment. Wheels are smaller than the Ultimate at 8 1/2 inches high and 1 1/2 inches wide. It has only two seat possibilities: folded up for sitting or down for storage. It costs $80.

    Ultimate Family Wagon

    • The Ultimate has a number of added features. There are two cupholders for adults at the handle base, as well as a removable UV canopy. The seats are versatile, five-way flip and fold that allow combinations such as two children riding, a child and storage, a child and covered storage, or a child and an activity desk. It is priced at $149.
