How to Remove Silly Putty

Binny & Smith, the makers of Silly Putty, call it "the toy with one moving part." Silly Putty comes in a red plastic egg and is made for squeezing, stretching and bouncing. When pressed onto a comic book, the image transfers onto the Silly Putty. It is no wonder this rubbery substance sometimes ends up stuck in places where you do not want it. Thankfully, removing Silly Putty from just about any surface is quick and easy with a spray lubricant.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove as much Silly Putty as you can from household surfaces or fabric with a dull knife.

Spray remaining Silly Putty residue with a spray lubricant and wait three minutes. Wipe clean with a soft, dry washcloth. If any Silly Putty remains, move to the next step.

    • 4

Wet your sponge or washcloth with warm water. Squirt a small amount of dishwashing liquid onto the washcloth. Wipe any remaining Silly Putty residue away.
