Things You'll Need
Instructions
Tape the box. Use duct tape to seal both sides of the box closed.
Cut three holes. Use your box cutter to cut a tennis-ball-sized hole near the top of the box. Leave at least 3 inches from the edge of the box to the edge of the hole. Directly below the first hole cut another hole double the size of the first. The third hole should be double the size of the middle hole. Leave 3 inches between holes.
Place poster board on top of the box. Locate the holes on the box and cut corresponding holes in the poster board. Do the same to the other piece of poster board.
Trim the poster board using scissors. The poster board needs to be flush with the sides of the box.
Draw the competitive game. Draw red rings around the outside of the holes on the poster board. Write the number 100 in the red area above the smallest hole. Write 50 in the red area above the center hole. Write 10 around the red area above the largest hole.
Draw the noncompetitive toy. Use the marker to draw three different pictures around the holes. These pictures can be anything your child would enjoy. Apples, sport balls or birds are a few ideas.
Stick on the hook and loop fastener. Stick one side of the hook and loop at each corner on the box. Stick the other side of hook and loop fasteners on the corners of the poster board. The poster board is now able to be changed.
Make the beanbags. Fill one half of a plastic sandwich bag with dried beans or rice. Use the packing tape to secure the top half of the bag so the filling is now at the top of the folded bag. Hold the bag by the short side and let all of the filling fall to the one side. Tape the side down so that the filling is touching all four sides of the square.
Play the game. Lean the game on a 45-degree angle. Use a wall or chair to prop it up. Take turns trying to toss the beanbags into the holes. Use the points to play a competitive game. Use the pictures to play solo or just for fun. Reach into the largest hole to retrieve the beanbags.
