How to Double Tailwhip

A double tailwhip on a scooter consists of going airborne in an "Ollie" and spinning the scooter in two full rotations before landing. The maneuver is difficult to execute because your movements must be extremely quick and precise. When attempting a double tailwhip, wear knee pads, elbow pads and a helmet.

Instructions

    • 1

Familiarize yourself with your scooter. Ride it up and down the street to get a feel for the pavement and the scooter's speed. Try doing an Ollie by jumping off a curb.

    • 2

Spin your scooter. While holding the scooter by the handlebars and lifting it off the road, spin the bottom of the scooter. Practice one full rotation; then practice two full rotations.

    • 3

Use speed. Race along the pavement and jump off the curb to get a feel for your scooter and its potential speed.

    • 4

Spin your scooter while you jump. Start by completing one turn during an Ollie. When you have perfected that move, increase to two spins. When you achieve two spins in an Ollie, you have performed a double tail whip.
