About Teck Decks

Tech Decks are fingerboards, miniature versions of skateboards, complete with moving wheels and trucks. Fingers instead of feet are used to perform skateboarding tricks of the pros. Fingerboards were first made popular during the late 1970s by professional skateboarder Lance Mountain and stuck around as a novelty for many years. A popularity resurgence began in the late 1990s with the introduction of the Tech Deck line of fingerboards.
  1. Features

    • Tech Decks, made by Spin Master, feature hundreds of designs from all the top skate companies. The fingerboard is 96 mm long. The width varies between 25 to 30 mm. Each Tech Deck set includes a hard plastic board complete with grip tape, professional graphics, metal trucks, and an additional set of graphic wheels. Buyers can assemble and customize each board with the tools.

    Usage

    • The Tech Deck is maneuvered by positioning one finger in the middle of the board and another finger at the tail or back end. With practice, users can mimic almost any skateboarding trick with the fingerboard. Some of the most popular tricks include grinds, flips, ollies, and slides. Tech Deck boards are mainly used for fun, but some professional skateboards use them to practice potential tricks.

    Accessories

    • Tech Deck offers accessories to complement the boards including authentic looking ramps, rails, platforms, and ledges. Sets can be put together to build custom mini-skate parks, and scale replicas of professional skate parks are also available. Carrying cases, figurines and video games are also available.

    Collectors

    • There are thousands of pro-designed Tech Decks on the market with some getting retired and new ones getting released on a regular basis. There are many special edition and collector series boards, including wooden collector boards and pro boards.

    Competitions

    • Fingerboarders can sometimes compete against others for cash and prizes in contests usually hosted in conjunction with skateboarding competitions. Tech Deck also hosts online competitions in which fingerboarders upload video of themselves doing tricks. The video is judged alongside competitors from around the world.
