Instructions

    • 1

Drill a small hole in the center of the piece of wood. Match the drill bit size to the size of the dowel rod or stick. Be sure that the hole is only half the depth of your wood. This is the hull.

    • 2

Wrap the aluminum foil around the wood part of your toy sail boat using the tape to secure it to itself. Cut a small hole in the aluminum foil where your drill hole is.

    • 3

Use scissors to cut the poster board into a right triangle. This is the sail. The vertical side of the triangle should be 2 inches shorter than the dowel. Cut three holes on the vertical side of the sail. Carefully slide the dowel through the holes in the poster board.

    • 4

Put a small drop of wood glue in the bottom of the hole and insert the dowel rod or stick. Hold the dowel rod in place until the glue dries completely.

    • 5

Add decoration of your choice and you are ready to go float your toy sailing boat.
