The Tickles and Hiccups
Make sure you install six AA batteries in your T.M.X. Elmo before attempting to operate him. With Elmo in a standing position, raise his right arm and press his belly. This should send him into a ticklish frenzy, as he states his trademark saying: "Now you've found something extra special." Elmo falls back and laughs hysterically. He sits back up, falls back down, rolls forward and he eventually should stand back up.
To see how Elmo handles the hiccups, raise Elmo's right arm up, sit him down and position his arm so it is resting on his leg. Move the on/off switch on his right foot to "off" and then "on," and press his left foot. Elmo should come down with a serious case of the hiccups, which he thinks he has cured once he manages to stand back up again; however, another hiccup emerges.
Odd Noises
Stand Elmo up and raise his right arm. Lay him on his stomach and press his left foot. As Elmo picks himself up, falls back and frolics, you should hear various sound effects accompanying his incessant laughter.
Elmo 's Fallen and Can't Get Up
To see Elmo fall and have trouble getting up, lay him on his back. Moving the on/off switch on his right foot, turn him off and then back on. Push his left leg up and back down again. Proceed to push his right leg up and back down, and then push his left leg up and down once more. Press Elmo's chin to initiate another round of laughter.
After Elmo falls back down, he should have trouble picking himself back up. With some extra effort, he eventually should stand back up.
Elmo Sees No One
Raise Elmo's right arm and bend him forward. Press his left foot; he should ask, "Where did everybody go?" Elmo proceeds to raise himself back up, acknowledge your presence and launches into another bout with hysterical laughter.
Elmo Reacts to Cold Hands
To see how Elmo reacts to your cold hands, use the on/off switch on Elmo's right foot and turn him off. Raise his right arm, sit him down and position his right arm so that it's resting on his foot. Turn him back on and lay him on his back. Bring him forward, lay him back again and push his right arm down. Stand him up and press his stomach. Your cold hands should send him into a typical motion-heavy jolly mood.
