Nerf Longshot Instructions

The Nerf Longshot is a powerful gun giving a child the sense of being a long-range sniper. The Nerf darts can travel 30 feet fairly accurately. The Longshot comes with a reconnaissance scope attachment and can break down into a smaller, mobile Nerf gun.
  1. Assembly

    • The Longshot has a main body and an extension attachment. You can operate the main body with the Nerf dart magazine independently of the extension. The extension is able to load a single dart to fire as well.

To assemble the Longshot, twist the extension onto the muzzle end of the main body and twist 90 degrees, locking it into place. Slide the scope onto the top and slide the grips into place. Twist the bolt into place to allow the loading/release mechanism to set.

    Preparation

    • There are two clips that come with the Nerf Longshot. Each clip holds up to six Nerf darts. Make sure the darts are straight and not torn to prevent the gun from jamming. Load the darts into the clip, using the arrow on each dart, by simply pressing them into place.

To load a dart into the main body, insert the clip into the front chamber (the back chamber stores the spare clip within the handle) and pull the bolt lever back then forward. If you are loading the extension gun, place a dart in the lower muzzle and cock it by sliding the front slider backward, then releasing it.

    Shooting

    • Use the sight to lock in on a target. Once the Nerf Longshot is cocked and loaded, squeezing the trigger should release the dart to the target. You may want to aim higher for longer distances to compensate for the gravitational pull on the dart.

If the dart gets jammed, there is a sliding door over the ammunition barrel to clear it. Remove the clip before opening the door and remove the obstructed dart(s). When you can see that the muzzle is clear and can load air to fire, replace the clip and reload.

Remember that while this is a Nerf gun, it still propels an object with strong force. Never aim it at a person's head and always use protective goggles when playing with it.
