How to Make a Teepee Over a Bed

"Cowboys and Indians" is a game many children have played in the United States since the early 1900s. The props for this game are easy to make. When your little "Indian" needs to rest, but does not want to quit playing the game, use a little imagination. The bedtime teepee is a perfect solution.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay the sheets out in the yard. Help the kids to decorate them with finger paints. Let the paint dry while the kids get cleaned up.

    • 2

Drive the roofing nail 3/4 of the way into the ceiling above the center of the bed. Locate the ceiling truss and drive the nail into the stud below the ceiling's drywall.

    • 3

Cut five pieces of twine that are 12 inches long. Tie one piece to the nail and drive it flush into the ceiling. Tie the others onto the corners of the bed.

    • 4

Grab a corner of all three sheets and tie the bunch to the ceiling twine. Tie a corner of two sheets to each corner of the bed.

    • 5

Cut the sheet on the entrance side of the bed to make a 3-foot door opening.
