Place a sheet of newspaper on a table. Place the foam core board square on the newspaper. Measure each corner of the square closest to you to the corner farthest from you. Make a dot at the halfway mark at each side with a pencil.
Draw a vertical line down the two sides of the square so it goes through the marks. Measure an inch down from each line at the side of the square farthest from you and make an ̶0;X.̶1; Measure an inch up from each line at the side of the square closest to you and make an ̶0;X.̶1;
Place a plastic straw on each of the lines. Staple over the straw on each of the ̶0;X̶1; marks with a staple gun. Pull up each staple with the tip of a flat-edged jeweler̵7;s screwdriver.
Apply bonding glue to the hole that is on one side of the model car wheel. Place an end of one of the straws into the hole. Hold the straw inside the hole for a minute. Repeat this procedure with the other wheels and the other straw ends. Let the glue set overnight.
Untwist the hook from the metal coat hanger with the pliers. Straighten out the wire with your hands to form a rod. Bend sections of the wire up and down to form a jagged shape that is like a bolt of lightning.
Draw a face on the Styrofoam ball with the colored markers. Stick one of the two ends of the wire into the ball so that the drawn face is looking at you.
Turn the square over. Apply bonding glue to the end of the wire at the bottom of the wire figure. Push the end into the square. Hold the figure in position for a minute.
Place a dab of bonding glue against the left edge of the square at about the middle. Place an end of the string against the glue and hold it there for a minute. Let the glue set overnight before pulling your wire toy across the floor.
