How to Make a Garage Made With LEGOs

The LEGO City line of toys allows users to construct a realistic modern town, complete with all the accoutrements of modern life. Naturally, this includes a garage to service the many vehicles in the LEGO City world. The LEGO City Garage is larger and more involved than many LEGO City sets, but well worth the time and trouble. Once you have built the set, you will have a garage complete with many fully functional tools and parts.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the packet of bricks marked with a "5," if you have not already done so. (Reference 1)

    • 2

Build the garage office. Working upward from the large, flat black base piece, construct the walls of the office, including the window and door. Don't forget to snap the equipment consoles and chair into place. Then, place the smaller, flat black base piece atop the walls to form the roof. Next, add the roof details, including the "Garage" sign. Finally, place the railing and fire extinguisher outside the office door.

    • 3

Open the packet of bricks marked with a "6," if you have not already done so.

    • 4

Build the garage's main workroom. Working upward from the large, black base piece, construct the bottom level of the exterior walls. Next, build the ramps for raising cars to be worked upon. Add wall beams on three of the four sides of the workroom (one long side, opposite the ramps, and two short sides). Finally, construct the gray storage racks on the front corner of the workspace.

    • 5

Open the packet of bricks marked with a "7," if you have not already done so.

    • 6

Build the roof for the garage's main workroom. Build a white roof layer around the beams of the workroom, then build a black base-thickness layer on top of the white layer, followed by an orange base-thickness layer, then a layer of smooth-topped white pieces (this final layer should cover the longer side and about two-thirds of one of the shorter sides).

    • 7

Attach the garage office to the main workroom.

    • 8

Add additional tools to the workroom. Simply snap the tools included in packet "7" into place inside the workroom. Place the tires on the storage racks at the front corner of the workroom.

    • 9

Construct the workroom's crane and pulleys. First, build the track for the crane along the back wall of the workroom using the base-thickness pieces provided. Then construct the crane-and-pulley assembly and snap it into place on the track.

    • 10

Open the packet of bricks marked with an "8," if you have not already done so.

    • 11

Build the garage for the tow truck. Working upward from the large, black base piece, construct the doorway and back wall of the garage, and the bottom layer of the surrounding walls. Then, build the wall beams for the remaining walls.

    • 12

Open the packet of bricks marked with a "9," if you have not already done so.

    • 13

Build the roof for the tow truck's garage. First, slide the garage door into place between the two front beams. Then, construct a roof layer connecting the beams of the garage walls. Top this layer with the large, black base piece, then add the roof details (the outside rim and the tow-truck sign). Next, construct the radio tower and attach it to the outside wall of the garage. Finally, attach the tow truck garage to the main workroom. Your garage is now open for business.
