How to Make a Dog Out of Legos

LEGOs are a simple building toy enjoyed by children and adults alike. The beauty of LEGO building blocks is that anyone can use his imagination to create anything, from common everyday items like dogs and flowers to uncommon items like spaceships and aliens. The key to creating a LEGO project, including a dog, is to use your imagination. Start with a very simple dog and then use other blocks and let your imagination guide you as you create your own LEGO dog show filled with different breeds.

Things You'll Need

  • 4, 1-by-1 LEGO flat bricks with clips

Instructions

    • 1

Hold two modified 1-by-1 LEGO bricks with studs on three sides next to each other so that one stud on each brick faces up and the other two studs face to the left and to the right. Press the up-facing stud of one brick into the hole on the bottom side of the other brick, attaching the two bricks together. Set the two-brick piece, which will be the dog's body, aside.

    • 2

Attach one 1-by-1 LEGO brick with a clip to a 1-by-1 flat brick with a clip so that the clips join together and the flat end of the flat brick clip faces down, forming a flat surface for the dog's foot. Repeat with six of the seven remaining clip bricks to form the four legs of the dog.

    • 3

Attach the top of the four legs to the four studs facing to the right and left of the two-brick piece you assembled earlier. Set the dog's body on a flat surface so that the feet are on the floor.

    • 4

Attach one LEGO gearstick to a gray, cylindrical LEGO pin. Connect that unit to the back of the dog's body, forming a tail that you can wag, as desired, by moving the gearstick to the right and left sides of the dog's body.

    • 5

Attach one LEGO stud to the front of the dog's body, opposite the tail, forming the dog's neck. Connect the remaining 1-by-1 LEGO brick with clip to the neck with the clip facing up to form the dog's ears.

    • 6

Place one LEGO Star Wars cauldron onto the front of the 1-by-1 brick with clip to form the dog's face. Attach the cauldron so that the short side goes against the dog's body and the longer side faces out, forming the look of a scottish terrier.
