How to Make a Boomerang Out of Legos

Lego-brand construction blocks are popular toys for both children and adults. Lego has thousands of pieces from which to choose, along with hundreds of play sets and themes. Boomerang pieces are not sold by Lego, but can easily be made using the company's separate blocks and attachment pieces. The benefit of playing with Legos is that your imagination is the only limitation. You could even make a life-size boomerang using Legos, though it would not work as a normal boomerang.

Things You'll Need

Two 1-by-4 Lego plates
Pistol or revolver
Two connector pegs

Instructions

Plate Boomerang

  Purchase two 1-by-4 plates for each boomerang. These are the flat blocks with four studs -- the small circle peg sticking out of the top of the block -- in a single row.

  Attach the end stud of one plate to an end stud of the other plate. Line up the stud with the concave circle holes on the back of the plate, designed to fit the stud, and push together. The blocks should snap into place.

  Twist the two plates apart until the two sides are perpendicular and it looks like a wide "V." This boomerang cannot be snapped into a Lego hand, but can be placed inside the hand for use in play.
Pistol Boomerang

  Purchase a simple Lego gun, such as a pistol or revolver. You will also need two connector pegs, either a tube or a pipe-like piece.

  Pull a connector piece over the handle of the gun until it is snug.

  Pull the second connector piece over the barrel of the gun until it is snug.

  Snap the boomerang into your Lego person's hand, if desired.
