Instructions

    • 1

Draw out the design of a LEGO home you would like to build on paper with a pencil. This will give you a pattern to use. It will also give you an idea of how large you want your home and how many and what shapes of LEGO blocks you will need.

    • 2

Set the large, flat LEGO pegboard in front of you. This is the ground for your LEGO home. It also serves as the building foundation for LEGO houses and buildings to keep them in place as you work.

    • 3

Snap LEGO bricks around the flat pegboard in the desired shape you want your house to be. Leave a gap in between the blocks for a door. You can have just one or several if you are building a large LEGO home. Add a LEGO door in the gap on the pegboard to complete the first round of bricks.

    • 4

Add more LEGO bricks around to build up the layers, creating the walls. Leave any gaps in your rows as you go to add windows. LEGO has a variety of window styles for houses. Add the window pieces into your gaps as you go.

    • 5

Build your LEGO home as tall as you want it. Begin to taper in the bricks at the top to create a roof. Snap the next block on half of the previous LEGO block to taper upward and inward to create a sloped roof. Use a flat rectangle LEGO piece to connect both sides where they meet in the middle to secure the roof. There are also special roof pieces created by LEGO you can use instead of tapering the blocks.

Snap in small LEGO flowers around the outside of your home. Small LEGO trees and bushes snap right onto the flat pegboard between the pegs. Add a sidewalk and steps to your home's front door using the flat LEGO bricks. Create a straight or curvy pattern if desired.
