Things You'll Need
Instructions
Lay down the baseboard. For Toad's "feet," place a 2-by-8 blue block on top of a blue 2-by-6. Next, add a blue 2-by-2 directly in the middle, followed by a blue 2-by-1 next to it on the left. Then, place a 2-by-2 white block at the end. The pieces should align smoothly at the front.
Create the legs. Building from the base you have just made, add a 2-by-6 white piece on the far left. Extend it one peg's length past the white piece below, and add a 2-by-1 blue piece on that level. On that same level (third from base) add a 2-by-3 white piece on the right side. It should sit flush with the edge of the structure so far. Attach a second 2-by-3, one peg to the right, and add another 2-by-1 blue piece below. The third level should now be flanked with symmetrical blue pieces. Fill in the fourth level gap with another 2-by-1 blue piece, then top the structure so far with a 2-by-10 white piece across the entire width of Toad.
Add two flat 2-by-6 blue pieces to the 2-by-10 white piece you just placed. They should fall on the far left side, and overlap the white piece by only 2 points, leaving four hanging off to the left. From the lower flat piece, as close to the side as possible, attach two 2-by-1 blue pieces stacked on top of each other. Add two 4-by-1 pieces and one 2-by-1 piece to finish the sixth row. The right side should be flush with the row below it.
Attach a blue 2-by-2 to the far right edge. Allow one peg's worth of overhang, and attach three 2-by-1 blue pieces below. Fill in the rest of the row with (from right to left) a 2-by-1 white piece, a 2-by-4 blue piece, a 2-by-1 white piece, a 2-by-1 blue piece, a 2-by-2 blue piece, a 2-by-1 yellow piece and finally a 2-by-1 blue piece, making it flush with the row below. As always, the front of the structure should be completely flat and have no extruding pieces.
Add a 2-by-2 yellow piece on the next row, flush left. Then, take a 2-by-1 blue piece and turn it, for the first time, with the long side facing you. Attach it to the back left peg on the latest yellow piece, allowing enough overhang for a blue piece directly under it, thin side forward. Fill in the rest of the row with (from left to right) a 2-by-1 yellow, a 2-by-4 blue, a 2-by-2 yellow, a 3-by-1 blue and a 2-by-1 yellow on the end. These should all be in the same row as the first 2-by-2 yellow piece.
Move from flush right to left, attaching a 2-by-2 yellow, a 2-by-1 blue, a 2-by-2 yellow, a 2-by-4 blue, a 1-by-2 blue and a 2-by-2 yellow. Then, use a 1-by-1 yellow and a 1-by-1 blue to finish off the rest of the row, in front of the 2-by-1 blue piece from the previous step. Start the next row on top of the first yellow piece on the left with a 1-by-2 blue. Then, moving right, add a 3-by-2 yellow, a 4-by-2 blue, a 2-by-2 yellow and a 2-by-2 blue. Place a yellow 2-by-1 sideways on the front half of the pegs, and from the overhang place two stacked blue 2-by-1s. Behind the yellow 2-by-1 place a yellow 1-by-1 on the left and a blue 1-by-1 on the right.
Build the head. For this part of Toad, you can simply put the pieces down in order; the next few rows are all very straightforward. Starting flush on the right side: blue 2-by-1, yellow 2-by-1, blue 2-by-2, yellow 2-by-2, blue 3-by-2, yellow 3-by-2 and blue 1-by-2. This should finish before the row below it on the left, as the structure is beginning to narrow to create the head. On the next row, starting on the left flush with the piece below, place a blue 2-by-2, a yellow 2-by-2, a blue 2-by-2, a yellow 2-by-3, a blue 2-by-1, a yellow 2-by-1 and a blue 2-by-1. On the next row, align the far right edge of a blue 2-by-4 with the most recently placed yellow 2-by-1. Then, moving left, place a yellow 2-by-2 and another blue 2-by-4. On the next row up, move one peg's space in on the left, and then place a blue 2-by-2, a yellow 2-by-6 and a blue 2-by-1, which should be flush with the row beneath. For the next row, start flush right and place a yellow 2-by-2 and then a yellow 2-by-6. Place a blue 2-by-3 on the far left; it should overhang by four pegs. For the next row, place a blue 2-by-2 one row past the overhang on the left, and then, moving right, add a white 2-by-2, a blue 2-by-1, a yellow 3-by-2, a blue 2-by-1, a yellow 2-by-1, a blue 2-by-1 and another yellow 2-by-1. These form the beginnings of the eyes.
Start one peg width further out on the next row, on the far left, and place a blue 2-by-2. Then, moving right, add a white 4-by-2, a blue 2-by-2, a yellow 2-by-1, a blue 2-by-1, a yellow 2-by-1, a blue 2-by-1, a yellow 2-by-1 and a blue 2-by-2, which should hang over the edge by one peg's width. This completes the eyes.
Finish with the hat. On the next row up, place a white 2-by-1 flush on the far right. Then, moving left, add a blue 2-by-2, blue 4-by-2, a white 3-by-2, a blue 2-by-2, a white 2-by-2 and a blue 2-by-1. On the next row up, place a blue 2-by-2 on the far right with an overhang of one. Hang a blue 2-by-1 from the bottom of that block so it falls next to the white 2-by-1 below. Then, moving left, add a white 2-by-2, a white 6-by-2, a blue 4-by-2, a white 2-by-1 and a blue 2-by-1. Start the next row flush left with a blue 2-by-1, a white 2-by-1, a blue 2-by-4, a white 2-by-4, a blue 2-by-2, a white 2-by-2 and another blue 2-by-2. The next row also starts flush left with a blue 2-by-1, a white 2-by-1, blue 2-by-4, white 2-by-3, blue 2-by-4, white 2-by-1 and a blue 2-by-2, ending flush right. The row above has the same blue 2-by-1 on the far right, and then a white 2-by-4, blue 2-by-1, a white 3-by-2, a blue 2-by-2, blue 2-by-4, white 2-by-2 and a blue 2-by-1. Start the next row one peg in on the left with a blue 2-by-1. Follow with a white 3-by-2, blue 2-by-2, white 3-by-2, blue 2-by-2, white 3-by-2 and a blue 2-by-1, which should be flush right. Start the row above flush left with a blue 2-by-1, then (moving right) a white 2-by-2, blue 4-by-2, white 4-by-2 and a blue 4-by-2. You're almost done! For the next row, start one peg in on the left with a blue 2-by-1, and then add a white 2-by-1, a blue 4-by-2, a white 3-by-2 and a blue 4-by-2. Move in a peg's space again to start the next row, which goes: blue 2-by-4, white 2-by-4, blue 3-by-2. The final row finishes the hat with a blue 2-by-4 and a blue 2-by-3 right in the middle.
