How to Build a LEGO Bat Tumbler

Set aside the brick packet labeled with a "1," if it remains unopened. The pieces in this packet can be used to assemble your mini-figures (this set comes with Batman, the Joker, and the Joker's Henchman) and the Joker's ice cream truck.

Assemble the base of the Tumbler. Begin with the large hollow rectangular brick pieces. Use the black rods to attach the long side of the smaller hollow rectangular brick pieces to the shorter side of the original pieces. Then, use the rods to connect these two sections using two long black pieces (extending off the front), and attach an additional medium black piece to either side (extending off the back). Add the flat gray base pieces on the underside of this assembly.

Begin the Tumbler's structure. Using the pieces provided, assemble the front axles and create a base layer using the flat gray base pieces. Then, using the gray and yellow flat base pieces, construct a base for the back end of the Tumbler.

Construct the passenger area. Turning now to the standard-thickness bricks, construct the seating area, not neglecting the control consoles. Then, add a layer of standard-thickness bricks over the entire base of the tumbler.

Add the detail pieces from packet "2." These pieces should be positioned along the edges of the Tumbler, particularly at the front.

Open the brick packet labeled with a "3," if it is still unopened. Otherwise, gather the bricks that came in this packet.

Assemble the armor on the back end and sides of the Tumbler. Begin with the armor on the very back of the Tumbler, and work forward to create a full layer of black armor pieces. Once this is in place, construct the rear interior of the Tumbler, behind the seating area. Insert supports, followed by a yellow crossbeam and the headrests for the two seats. Then, add the final armor detail pieces from packet "3" to the sides of the Tumbler.

Open the brick packet labeled with a "4," if it is still unopened. Otherwise, gather the bricks that came in this packet.

Build the roof and weapons. Add a layer of flat black base pieces to the back end. On top of this, add the detail pieces to complete the Tumbler's back roof. Add additional detail pieces to the sides to form the first of the Tumbler's weaponry. Then, building outward from the front center of the Tumbler, construct the front weapons array.

Separately construct the roof for the passenger area. Beginning from the large, flat rectangular black base piece, add the roof armor. Don't forget the detail stickers. Then, snap this roof piece into place.

Add final details. Snap the adjustable flaps into place on the back roof of the Tumbler. Then, snap two large tires into place on each side of the back end, and secure each with a nut. Snap a single smaller tire into place on each side of the front end, and secure each with a nut. Last, add the final details to the Tumbler's weapons, including the yellow muzzles on the side guns.
