Lego Vulture Droid Instructions

In the Lego "Star Wars" series, many of the spaceships and characters are re-imagined in Lego pieces. The vulture droids in the "Star Wars" universe are automated fighters that transform into a walking mode when approaching enemies on land. They are threats in space, where they can chase and attack Jedi spacecraft, and on land, where they join the ranks of the droid armies in battle. There is a stand-alone model as well as one included in a handful of other Lego sets.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a 2-by-2 flat plate on the back of a 3-by-6 semicircular plate. Attach it on a corner of the long side so that it hangs halfway off the piece. Stick a second plate on the other corner. Attach a pair of 1-by-3 flat plates between the two plates so they overhang and meet the back of the 2-by-2s.

    • 2

Flip the model over and attach a 1-by-2 hook piece to the underside of one of the 2-by-2 plates. Attach 2-by-2 round plate so that it attaches the two pieces. Repeat on the other side.

    • 3

Stick a 1-by-2 plate on a third 2-by-2 round piece. Attach a 1-by-2 plate with a side-mounted handle on the side to the other side of the piece. Place two 1-by-1 round plates side by side on top of this second plate. Attach this to the underside of the model, between the two rounded plates. Flip the model over again.

    • 4

Stick a 1-by-1 angled plate onto a 1-by-2 plate with an end-mounted beam. Stick the plate near the beam. Attach a 1-by-3 rounded plate in front of this. Attach a robot arm to the beam, and attach it to the beam on the back of the model. This forms the head of the droid.

    • 5

Clip a 1-by-2 plate with two hooks to a 1-by-2 plate with a side beam. Place a pair of 1-by-4 plates parallel to each other and so that they are attached to only one stud on these two pieces, and overhang. Attach a 1-by-4 rounded beam to this piece so that it covers the two layers.

    • 6

Attach a 1-by-2 plate to the underside of the 1-by-4 pieces. Attach two more 1-by-4 rounded beams so they form the two legs of one wing. Attach two more 1-by-2 vent plates between the two a-by-4 beams. Make two of these units, mirrored, to form the wings.

    • 7

Clip the wings to the hooks on the body of the model.
