How to Build a LEGO Dragon

LEGO has offered dozens of model kits and collector's edition sets surrounding the theme of dragons over the last several decades. In particular, the LEGO model 3724 is a kit that allows younger and older users to create a green, cartoon-like dragon. The kit contains over 1,500 pieces and the resulting sculpture is over one foot tall. This particular set may take several days to complete, yet is methodologically simple enough for children ages 12 and older.

  Clear a sturdy, flat surface to create your workspace.

  Separate your building blocks by color, so as to speed the construction process.

  Open the assembly packet and find the illustrated directions guide, which are both included with the LEGO kit.

  Lay out the correct LEGO pieces atop of the illustrated diagram of the base layer of the dragon. Once organized, carefully move the LEGO pieces off of the diagram and onto the flat sturdy surface, maintaining the specified shape of the base layer.

  Place the correct LEGO pieces atop of the diagram for the second horizontal layer of the dragon. Once all pieces are organized, transfer them piece by piece from the paper diagram to the existing base layer. Securely snap the building blocks into place to construct the entire horizontal layer.

  Repeat Step 5 for the remaining layers of the green dragon kit, snapping together one horizontal layer of LEGO bricks at a time until the entire dragon sculpture is complete.
