How to Make LEGO Dungeons and Monsters

Instructions

    • 1

Collect LEGO bricks and minifigures to build your dungeon. The basic materials will be gray and black bricks and base plates, as well as items with stone patterns. Detail pieces such as torches, gates and doorways will add to the appearance of the dungeon. LEGO Castle and LEGO Harry Potter sets are great places to find these items.

    • 2

Draw a rough plan of your dungeon. Decide on a basic size for each wall section, such as eight or twelve studs. By making your sections the same size, you can rearrange them to create new combinations. Floor sections can be any size, but the connections between sections should all be the same size.

    • 3

Assemble wall and door sections. These can be simple vertical walls of gray bricks, or you can add some visual interest with arches or columns of bricks in a contrasting color.

    • 4

Assemble floor sections. These can be simple gray baseplates or patterns of alternating colored tiles on a baseplate.

    • 5

Attach the wall sections to the baseplates. You can arrange your floor and wall sections in different combinations to make rooms of different shapes and sizes.

    • 6

Stock your dungeon with monsters. Good minifigures for monsters can be found from a variety of different kits. Spiders, snakes, scorpions and other dangerous animals make excellent small threats, while LEGO Castle and Viking sets contain larger menaces such as skeletons, black knights and dragons. To make unique monsters, experiment by combining parts of different minifigures and bricks to create hybrids.
