Instructions

    • 1

Draw several basic designs of your Lego Emperor on paper. Sketch the basic outline of a Lego mini figure and draw the accessories and facial features you want the Emperor to have. Work quickly and press lightly with your pencil. Try to design your Emperor around Lego mini figure parts that you have in your collection or can order online.

    • 2

Look over your Emperor designs and choose the one you like best. Gather the necessary mini figure pieces you need from your Lego collection, such as body parts, capes, weapons, and other accessories. Buy any parts you don't have through online toy and Lego stores. Note any parts you need to repaint to create your Lego Emperor.

    • 3

Place several sheets of newspaper on a level table. Put your paints and mini figure parts on top of the newspaper. Open the abrasive polish and apply several drops onto a clean wash rag. Rub the Lego parts you plan to repaint thoroughly with the rag. Apply the polish evenly over each part's surface to remove all unnecessary decals. Clean the polish from each piece by rubbing it with a clean part of your rag.

    • 4

Paint the base colors onto the mini figure parts using your model paints and brushes. Keep the Lego pieces separate while painting. Use the least amount of paint possible when applying your base colors. Work slowly and let each piece dry for 20 minutes.

    • 5

Paint the surface details of each body part, using your Emperor sketches as a reference. Apply the darkest colors of the details first and allow them to dry for 20 minutes. Paint the highlights of the Emperor's clothing last. Allow each piece to dry for another 20 minutes.

    • 6

Put the pieces of your Lego Emperor together. Review the figure and paint any other details desired. Complete your Lego Emperor by putting any other accessories on the figure, such as staffs, caps and crowns.
