How to Build a LEGO Jet Pack

The LEGO company was originally formed in the mid-1930s as a construction company, but the first LEGO building set was not sold until 1949. Since then, several secret agent LEGO sets with specialty vehicles have been released. Creating a jetpack uses pieces included in most LEGO collections, though instructions from the first LEGO Agents set (No. 8631), includes building steps for a jetpack.

Instructions

    • 1

Snap a one-by-two block with two holes onto both sides of a three-by-one block with two pegs on each side.

    • 2

Snap one-by-one blocks with holes onto the remaining pegs. Place a three-by-one baseplate on top of the right and left hand blocks. Place a two-by-one ledge on the baseplates on both sides.

    • 3

Snap a two-pronged two-by-one hinge on top of a two-by-one baseplate. Attach a three-pronged hinge to the first hinge, then fit a double-ended peg inside the end.

    • 4

Fit a two-by-three baseplate on top of the hinge and peg sitting in the center. Fit this piece on top of the ledges from step one.

    • 5

Put a one-by-one clip piece on each corner of the top baseplate, farthest from the peg and hinges.

    • 6

Fit a peg into the bottom of a pulley hook and base. Fit the other end of this peg inside the center hole behind the top baseplate. Rotate the piece so the hinges and peg stand straight up.

    • 7

Fit two flexible poles into the clips, then snap a handle onto each pole end.

    • 8

Place a minifigure on the side opposite the poles. Snap a half peg onto the end of each handle, then bend the poles over the piece into the minifigure's hands.

    • 9

Place a four-bladed helicopter rotor on the top peg, then snap two small side wings on the ledge pegs.
