How to Build LEGO Rockets

If your LEGO city includes a space research center, you will probably need some rockets to add to the display. Versatile LEGO parts allow you to build the rockets you need, and it's also possible to add research materials to the rockets. You can make the rockets any size or shape, but the basic principle remains the same for most types of rockets.

Things You'll Need

  • 10-stud Technic rod
  • 2-by-2 rocket booster engine
  • Eight round 2-by-2 bricks
  • Two 1-by-2 brick with Technic holes
  • Two 2-by-2 plates
  • 2-by-2 nose cone

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the rod into the plus-shaped (+) hole in the center of the 2-by-2 rocket booster. The rod should point above the end with the studs.

    • 2

Thread four 2-by-2 round bricks onto the Technic rod, pointing upward, so they stack on top of the booster.

    • 3

Stack the two 1-by-2 bricks on top of the 2-by-2 plate, side by side. Stack another plate on the top of this piece. Thread this block onto the Technic rod through the holes on the sides of the bricks. This becomes a mounting point for research equipment made out of LEGOs.

    • 4

Stack the remaining 2-by-2 round bricks on top of the mounting point, threaded onto the rod.

    • 5

Attach the nose cone on the top of the rocket.
