Instructions for the Mini LEGO Republic Cruiser

Lego building sets function more like model airplanes than standard Legos. Although users can choose to exercise their creativity, the sets come with an established end goal and a specific route to reaching that goal. The Lego Mini Republic Attack Cruiser set (a Lego Star Wars set) is no different. But if you follow the established sets, you'll soon have a completed cruiser.

Instructions

    • 1

Build the base of the cruiser's front end. Place two long, light-gray pieces (building from one wide to three wide) with their long flat sides together. At the long end, place the flat dark-gray 2-by-6 piece. Then place the flat dark-gray 2-by-12 piece lengthwise across all three pieces (so there is one row of circles left at each end).

    • 2

Build up the rear of the base. At the back end of this piece on each side, place the flat light-gray 1-by-4 pieces, with the slanted side outward and the flat side flush against the dark-gray piece. Directly in front of these pieces, place the 1-by-3 light-gray pieces with the flat side forward.

    • 3

Add another layer to the rear of the base. Directly behind the flat light-gray 1-by-4 pieces, place two more flat light-gray 1-by-4 pieces, with the slanted side facing the back and the wider portion toward the center.

    • 4

Continue building up the front end. In front of each 1-by-3 piece, place a flat light-gray piece six circles long and building from one to two wide, with the thinner end toward the front. In front of these, place another set of flat light-gray 1-by-4 pieces, with the flat sides flush and the thinner ends connecting at the front.

    • 5

Place the 2-by-2 red piece with two circles on its top on top of the back end of the long dark-gray piece (the circles should be at the back). On either side of this red piece and even with its front, place a light-gray 1-by-4 piece. Outside these pieces, place a light-gray piece with a roughly triangular top (with three circles on each side). The right angle of this piece should be at the back, facing inward.

    • 6

Add another layer to the front end. Directly in front of the last pieces placed, place two more long, light-gray pieces (building from one wide to three wide). Then, directly in front of the red piece, place a flat, dark-gray 1-by-2 piece. On either side and extending one circle in front of this piece, place a light-gray piece six circles long, but with a flat top.

    • 7

Build up the front end further. Outside each of the last pieces placed, place a light-gray 1-by-4 piece. Outside each of these, place a dark-red "grill" piece. In front of this section, place two more light-gray 1-by-4 pieces, with their flat sides facing front.

    • 8

Complete the front end. In front of the last pieces placed, place another set of flat light-gray pieces six circles long and building from one to two wide. In front of these, place another set of flat light-gray 1-by-4 pieces, again with the flat sides flush and the thinner ends connecting at the front.

    • 9

Add front end details. Directly in front of each assembled flat-topped light-gray piece, add an additional flat-topped light-gray piece, this time four circles long. Outside these (even with the second circle to the front) place a tan circle-topper piece. Inside the flat-topped light-gray 1-by-4 pieces, place the long, dark-red flat-topped pieces, grill-covered ends forward. Atop the 1-by-4 gray pieces at the back, place a gray circle-topper piece over the front square and the third square back. Atop each gray circle-topper piece, facing outward, place a double-barreled dark-gray gun.

    • 10

Assemble and attach the engines. Using the gray engine pieces, assemble the engines. Attach these to the back end of the cruiser. Don't forget to attach the green circle-topper pieces to each exhaust port at the back end of the cruiser.

    • 11

Add finishing touches. Snap the white, circular stand or landing-gear piece to the bottom of the ship, at the center. Snap light-gray guns onto each of the turrets at the top of the back end of the ship (the top of the engines).
