LEGO Camper 7639 Instructions

After a long several months at work, the people of your LEGO city will probably need to get away, perhaps taking a trip in the LEGO camper. The camper, numbered 7639 in LEGO's directions, is quick to build and comes with a grill, a surfboard, and two vacationers riding in back. When built, you can take the top off of the camper to see inside, and let your riders stretch their legs after driving.

Instructions

  1. Body

    • 1

Flip the large base plate over. Attach two 2-by-1 plates to the truck bottom plate. There is a square section on this plate, with two plates coming out the front and back. These two pieces should be centered on these protruding plates. Attach two axles to the bottom of the model, so the corners touch the 2-by-1 plates.

    • 2

Attach a second 2-by-1 plate, touching the axle pieces, on the longer plate on the base. Stick a 1-by-6 plate on the base next to that, to create the back of the rear fender. Cover the front axle with a 2-by-2 plate, and the rear with a 2-by-6 plate, extending back to the square indentation. Flip the base over.

    • 3

Attach two 1-by-2 vent plates to the end of the back of the chassis. Attach two 1-by-1 transparent plates to the rear fender to act as brake lights. Place a 1-by-4 brick behind the vents, and a 1-by-4 brick with four side-studs on the front of the model. Stick a steering wheel at the front-center of this, behind the front brick.

    • 4

Put a 1-by-2 upward angled brick on top of the brake light, pointing toward the front of the model, forming part of the fender. Repeat on the other side. Stick the four fender bricks onto the model, over the four axle pieces. Attach four more 1-by-2 upward-angled bricks onto the body, so they touch the fender top.

    • 5

Stick the three seats into the model. Place one behind the steering wheel, one between the rear fenders, and one pointing toward the back of the truck, inside the indent, at the rear.

    • 6

Place three 1-by-4 bricks on the walls of the model, between the upward-angle bricks on the side, and the two seats in the back. Cover the back wall with three 1-by-2 flat plates. Attach two 1-by-4 flat plates to the side walls. Stick two more in front of that, on the wall. Place two 1-by-6 plates on the side walls by the driver's seat, and a 1-by-4 at the very front.

    • 7

Build the front bumper. Put a 2-by-4 plate centered on a 1-by-6 plate, so it hangs off the side. Place two 1-by-1 upward angled plates on the two exposed sides of the 1-by-6, and put two 1-by-2 plates between them. Attach the two 1-by-2 rounded bricks on the sides of the 2-by-4, with the lower part of the brick hanging back. Put a 1-by-4 plate between these two, and stick a decal on the front.

    • 8

Attach the bumper to the front. Stick two 2-by-3 angled bricks with the narrow end onto a 1-by-6 plate. Attach this to the front of the model, so the plate covers the top of the bumper. Place a door behind this, and a 1-by-2 brick behind that. Repeat on the other side. Cover the angled bricks and the door with the windshield.

    Roof

    • 9

Stack a 1-by-2 brick on top of a 1-by-3 brick. Place a 1-by-6 brick so it forms an L, touching the exposed part of the lower brick. Stick a 1-by-2 brick between these two. Place a 1-by-4 hinge brick at the end of the L, with the hinge bump pointing outside the L.

    • 10

Clip a frying pan to a 1-by-1 brick with a hook on the side. Attach this in front of the hinge brick. Place the two windows between these pieces. Place a 1-by-3 atop the hinge, and use a 1-by-3 and a 1-by-1 to make another L.

    • 11

Place a 1-by-6 plate across the top of the hinge and the windows. Stick a 1-by-2 in front of that, and a 1-by-1 transparent plate on that. Place a 1-by-2 plate with two hooks on the short part of the L, facing outward. Stack a 1-by-1 brick with a hook on top of this.

    • 12

Stack two 1-by-1 transparent plates on top of each other, next to the 1-by-1 hook brick. Put a 2-by-4 curved brick on top of these plates. Stick a 1-by-2 curved brick next to that, and a second 2-by-4 brick.

    • 13

Attach a 2-by-8 plate to the top of the curved brick, and a 1-by-2 at the end of that. Stick two 1-by-2 vent plates on the top corners of this, parallel to the windows on the side. Attach this entire device onto the 1-by-2 plate on the side of the truck body.

    • 14

Repeat these steps to make a mirrored second L-shaped roof piece, with two small differences. Attach a mug to the inside of the camper roof instead of a frying pan. Instead of the 1-by-2 plate with double-hooks, attach the L-shaped 1-by-2 plate, and a 2-by-2 plate with the TV decal. Attach this to the model opposite the other piece.

    • 15

Stack two 1-by-4 plates on top of the window-frame piece. Attach this piece to the interior of the camper, between the hinge bricks.

    • 16

Attach a 1-by-2 vent plate to the top of a 1-by-2 double-hook plate, and clip this to the bottom of the ladder. Stick this onto the double-hook piece on the back of the model.

    • 17

Attach two 1-by-3 angled bricks over the hinge and the window frame. Stick two three-sided cup bricks, 1-by-1 in size, next to these angled bricks, facing inward and forward.

    Cab Roof

    • 18

Stack a 1-by-1 transparent plate on top of a 1-by-1 plate, on the back corners of the 6-by-6 plate. Stack the two 1-by-2 curved bricks on top of these, facing each other, with a 1-by-4 plate between them.

    • 19

Place the large, hollow curved brick on the front of this piece, facing forward. Stick the 2-by-2 curved cab brick on top, centered.

    • 20

Paste on the vent decals on the top 2-by-2, and the other decals on the front and sides of the cab roof. Attach this over the windshield, covering the driver.

    • 21

Stack a 1-by-2 transparent plate on top of a 1-by-2 plate with a side-handle. Bring the two halves of the camper roof together and clip them together using this piece. Fold the piece so that the transparent plate is at the top, acting as a light.

    • 22

Insert the two wheels into the bike frame. Attach the bicycle to the top of the left-half of the roof. Stick two 1-by-2 plates about 4-studs apart on the right half, and stick the surfboard to it.

    • 23

Attach the four wheels to the axles. Place your driver and passenger inside the vehicle.

    • 24

Build a grill by stacking the remaining 1-by-2 vent plate on top of the 1-by-2 handle plate. Place the fish on the grill so its top fin is between two slats on the vent.
