LEGO Set Instructions for a Rebel Scout Speeder

Countless vehicles and scenes from the "Star Wars" universe are recreated in Lego bricks, like the Rebel Scout Speeder -- set number 7668 -- which includes four rebel soldiers. These vehicle are used to quickly get forces into battle, under the cover of the laser blaster turret that's attached to the back. The speeder can actually detach from this turret, to engage in battle, and zip back to pick it up later.

Instructions

  1. Speeder

    • 1

Stick a 2-by-1stud brick with a technic pin on the side and in the middle of a 6-by-8-stud plate. Place two 1-by-4 flat plates on either side of this, parallel to each other. Stick a 2-by-3 plate between these pieces.

    • 2

Attach a 2-by-2, double-angled brick on the back corner of the model. Place a 2-by-1 angled brick in front of this and then a 2-by-8 angled brick on the front of it. Repeat this on the other side. These bricks, which make up the walls of the vehicles, should overhang the edge of the plate by one stud.

    • 3

Attach a second 6-by-8 plate to the underside of the these two bricks. Stick a 3-by-6 semicircular plate on the front of this piece. Attach a 2-by-6 curved, angled brick in front of the wall bricks.

    • 4

Place the two 1-by-6 curved bricks on either side of the model, between the two side walls and moved up by one stud. Stick the 2-by-6 curved brick between them, also moved up by one stud. This makes the nose of the vehicle.

    • 5

Attach the wheel rim, which looks like an engine tube, to the peg on the back.

    • 6

Place a 1-by-4 plate on each side of the model, at the back-left corner. Then, put a 1-by-1 plate with a hook in front of it. Repeat this on the other side. Repeat this again in front of these pieces, to make a second pair of hooks on the front.

    • 7

Place a second 3-by-6 semicircular plate on the top-front of the vehicle. Stick two 1-by-2 vent plates on the sides, behind this plate.

    • 8

Flip the model over. Attach the four 2-by-2 round-bottom pieces to the base, one in the middle of the front, one on the middle-back and two on the sides between them. These let the model glide over smooth surfaces. Flip the model over so that it is right-side up.

    • 9

Stick the windshield on the front of the model. Clip the four rifles into the side hooks on the vehicle.

    Turret

    • 10

Attach two 2-by-1 tall, C-shaped bricks to the middle of a 2-by-4 plate. When you view this from the 2-stud side, you should see a hole between the two pieces. Attach two 1-by-2 tall, angled bricks to the side of this piece. Repeat this on the other side. They should form a trapezoid on the sides.

    • 11

Cover all of these pieces with a 2-by-4 plate. Flip the model over and attach a 1-by-1 round plate to the underside of these angled bricks. Put the model back in the upright position. Put a 2-by-2 pivot plate in the center of the top.

    • 12

Attach two 1-by-2 plates, with a single top-stud, to the side of the 4-by-4 round plate. The studs on the top should form a line pointing outward. Place a 1-by-1 antenna piece on the circle to the left of the top.

    • 13

Mount the gun on these 1-by-2 plates. Attach a small satellite dish to the front and a 1-by-1 round, transparent piece to the front of that area.

    • 14

Mount this piece on top, center of the pivot plate. Put the turret in the back of the speeder. Attach the decals to the front of the speeder and the sides of the turret. Put rebel soldiers inside the speeder and one on the turret.
