LEGO Instructions for Creator Mini Flyersǫ8

The LEGO Creator set 4918 gives you a handful of pieces and some basic instructions for building various aircraft. Included in this set are all of the parts and instructions required to help you build a rescue helicopter. But, the set isn't limited to the helicopter. Once you learn how to create this model, you can use this same set to build a biplane, a supersonic jet or the aircraft of your dreams.

Instructions

  1. Rescue Helicopter

    • 1

Place a 1-by-4 plate at the back of a 2-by-4 plate, so that the thicker piece is perpendicular and they form a T-shape. Put a 2-by-2 plate across the gap and a second 2-by-4 perpendicular to it, forming a plus sign (+) with the piece below.

    • 2

Find a 1-by-3 curved brick and place it across the gap between the two perpendicular plates on the right side. Place a 1-by-1 angled plate in front of this piece. This forms a wheel arch for the model. Repeat this on the other side.

    • 3

Place a 2-by-3 upward-angled brick on the end of the aircraft, pointing backward. Place a 2-by-2 brick in front of this piece. Put a 2-by-2, L-shaped brick in front of this piece. Stick a 1-by-2 flat plate in the elbow of the L-shaped piece. This flat plate forms the floor and rescue bay of the helicopter.

    • 4

Place 1-by-1 bricks at the front and side of the plate. Stack a 1-by-1 plate with a side-mounted, two-stud knob on top of a 1-by-1 plate. Place another 1-by-1 on top of this. Place it in the elbow formed by the 1-by-1 bricks. This forms the fuselage of the model.

    • 5

Put a 2-by-3 plate and a 2-by-4 plate on top of the fuselage, so you cover the gap of the rescue bay. Stack two 2-by-1 plates with a single stud in the middle, so they form a straight line pointing toward the back. Place a 1-by-2 brick on the front of the plate. Put an L-shaped plate on the front with a round 2-by-2 bubble piece on the front. This bubble is the cockpit.

    • 6

Put two more 1-by-2 plates with a single top-stud on the back of the model, continuing the line from the other two. Place a 1-by-1 transparent plate in front of these, a 1-by-1 plate ahead of that, then a second 1-by-2 transparent plate, to create windows. Put a 1-by-1 plate on the left side and a 1-by-1 plate with a side-knob on the right.

    • 7

Place the transparent cockpit piece on the front of the model. Stack a 2-by-2 plate behind this piece. Make an engine using a 1-by-1 plate with a knob on the side, attach a 1-by-1 cone to the back and a 1-by-1 round plate to the front. Make two of these and place them on either side of the model, with the cone pointing backward. Put a 1-by-2 plate on the back.

    • 8

Cover the engine plates with a 2-by-2 plate. Put a 1-by-2 plate in front of that and a 1-by-2 flat plate ahead of it. Stack a 2-by-2 pivot plate on top of the 2-by-2 and a 1-by-2 vent in front of that piece.

    • 9

Build the tail section using a 1-by-8 plate. Put a 1-by-1 plate on the tip and a 1-by-3 angled brick in front of it. Stack a 1-by-2 plate on top of the plate at the tip, so it hangs off the right, and put the right-angled corner of a 2-by-3 wing plate on the back so it points to the left. Attach the rotor axle and rotor on top of this piece, and place a second 2-by-3 wing atop the previously attached wing.

    • 10

Stack a 1-by 6 plate on the 1-by-8, so it overhangs at the front, and put a 1-by-1 angled plate at the tip of it. Place a 1-by-3 plate on the bottom of the tail section. Attach this to the back of the model. To make a beacon light, put a 1-by-1 angled plate on the very end of the model and a 1-by-1 round, transparent plate on the tip of the wing.

    • 11

Build the rotors. Stack four 1-by-1 round plates on top of the 2-by-2 pivot. Make one of the rotor blades by stacking a 1-by-4 flat plate one stud away from the end of a 1-by-8 plate. Make four of these and place them on top of the round plates, so that they form a square in the center. Stack the 2-by-2 flat, round plate on top of these pieces.
