How to Make a LEGO Reindeer

You can make almost anything out of Lego building blocks -- including Christmas decorations. Lego reindeer make simple projects for any age over 3 that can be used as Christmas tree ornaments, tabletop decor or gifts. If you don't have enough brown and yellow bricks, you can order specific bricks online or at Lego stores, or make multi-colored reindeer with the bricks you have. No special bricks are required; all are standard square and rectangular bricks with two to eight "ports" -- the little round tabs on every Lego brick.

Things You'll Need

  • 6 rectangular 8-port brown bricks
  • 6 square 4-port brown bricks
  • 1 rectangular 2-port brick
  • 4 square 4-port yellow bricks
  • 2 rectangular 2-port yellow bricks

Instructions

    • 1

Place two brown 8-port rectangular LEGOs end to end. Press another 8-port Lego in the center to hold them together, leaving 4-port squares on either side.

    • 2

Press a 4-port square brick on each side of the center 8-port brick, making an even second layer.

    • 3

Add two 8-port brown bricks on top of the second layer, making a rectangle that's 16 ports long and 3 bricks high.

    • 4

Connect two 4-port square brown bricks and attach to the bottom front of the rectangle. Repeat with the other two 4-port blocks and attach to the bottom back. You should now have a rectangle with "legs."

    • 5

Place an 8-port brown LEGO on top of the legged rectangle so that four of the ports connect to one end and four ports extend past it. This will be the head.

    • 6

Connect two 4-port square yellow LEGOs over the half of the head that's connected to the body so that each is connected by two ports with the other two ports sticking out sideways. The two bricks will meet in the center.

    • 7

Add two more 4-port yellow squares on top of the first two, so that each is connected by the two outside ports on either side, with the other two ports sticking out. Cap each with a 2-port yellow rectangle so that the narrow ends run back to front, finishing the antlers.

    • 8

Place the 2-port brown rectangular LEGO on the back end of the body to make a tail.
