LEGO Islander Instructions

Along with the more modern-looking LEGO "City" series, there have also been a number of sets in the "Pirates" series, including the spin-off "Islanders" sets. These featured a LEGO-themed tribe of islanders who were caught between the warring pirates and naval forces. They used a double-hulled boat, The "Islander Catamaran" (LEGO set number 6256), which is easy to assemble and comes packaged with two minifigures and a crocodile.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach the boat-shaped decals to the sides of one of the red canoe pieces. Repeat with the other canoe, and place them side-by-side about two inches apart.

    • 2

Clip a large black arch to the two canoes. On both, it should be on the second stud from the front of the canoe, on the outside of the two canoes. Repeat with the second arch, placing it in the same position on the back of the canoes.

    • 3

Attach a black half-arch to the front inner stud of the canoe. The lowest stud on the back of this should meet with the second-lowest stud on the full archway. The end of this arch should point toward the front of the boat. Repeat with the other three half-arches so they point away from the center of the boat.

    • 4

Place the yellow 1-by-8 stud plate across the half-arches over one boat. This creates a platform, and also joins the arch pieces at the front of the boat with those at the back. Repeat on the other side.

    • 5

Stick two red 1-by-1 plates with a side hook on the rear-most arches, pointing away from the front of the boat. Stack a red 1-by-1 round plate atop a black 1-by-1 plate with a side hook. Stick these next to the front arch, so that the hooks point away from the middle arch, and the red dots line up with the arch piece.

    • 6

Place a red 1-by-2 plate across the red 1-by-1 round plate and the neighboring arch piece. Stick a black 3-by-6 semicircular plate on the arch, pointing toward the front of the boat. Attach a second semicircle to the back of the boat.

    • 7

Attach a red 1-by-1 plate with a top hook to the top of a red 1-by-1 with a side hook. Clip this onto a red 1-by-2 with a side-mounted handle. Attach this to the back of the rear semicircle piece.

    • 8

Clip the white horns into the three side hooks, two on the back and one on the right side of the model. Attach a red paddle to the red hook in the middle, and a spear to the remaining side hook.

    • 9

Place a black 4-by-6 plate across the top of the model, between the two half-circle pieces. Stick the yellow 2-by-2 swivel piece in the middle front, so there is a row of studs around three sides of the model.

    • 10

Place two yellow 1-by-2 plates with vertical handles next to the swivel. Attach a third to the front of the half-circle plate. Place two 1-by-1 round bricks, yellow, on the two front arches of the boat. Perch parrots on top of these pieces.

    • 11

Build a drum using the red 2-by-2 round brick and a 2-by-2 round flat plate with zebra print. Stick this on the left vertical stick on the side of the middle platform.

    • 12

Attach the two sail beams to the sail mast piece. They clip into place on the clip joints near the base of the mast. Push the sail over these two beams, and clip this onto the swivel.

    • 13

Attach the white feathers to the top of the black wig, and put this on the head of the female islander character. Stick her on the boat.

    • 14

Insert a feather piece into the red headdress, and attach it to the chief's head. Build him a scepter using the red antenna and a red 1-by-1 plate with a side-hook. Attach horns to this piece, and then place a blue 1-by-1 plate on the top of the scepter. Place him on the boat.

    • 15

Insert the tail piece into the crocodile body. Clip the upper jaw piece to the head of the gator body.
