Tauntaun and Rider
Assemble the five LEGO Minifigs; the two Snowtroopers, the two rebel soldiers, and Luke Skywalker. Luke has brown pants and a parka, and holds the binoculars. The two rebels have white pants and wear white backpacks and helmets with snap-on goggles. One holds a rifle, the other a blaster. The Snowtroopers have all-white armor, full-face helmets and only one carries a blaster. Set these characters aside.
Insert the two Tauntaun arms into the Tauntaun body. They should simply snap into place, with the claws pointing down. Snap the two horns into the side of the head, so they point toward the front of the creature's nose.
Push the saddle into place on the open space on his back. Loop the halter into his mouth, with the end of the reins above the saddle.
Push Luke's legs into the saddle, and clip a spare blaster into the side of the saddle.
Empire Cannon and Pack
Attach three antenna cups onto three sides of a 1-by-1 stud brick with four side-mounted studs. Position the antennae so they tilt downward. Place a small white satellite dish on the bottom of this unit. This becomes the mount for the cannon.
Loop the black vine whip around the fourth side brick on the back of the mount. Insert a wrench handle into the hole on the side.
Attach a camera-shaped brick to the top of the mount, with the lens facing forward. Attach a 1-by-1 stud plate with a hook on the top to the back end of the camera. Clip the handlebars into this hook.
Attach single grey 1-by-1 round plates on the back end of the camera, on the sides. Place a vent plate on the top.
Insert a gray rod into the lens of the camera, and slip the black Technic connector over this, pushing it all the way to the back. Place a small black dish around the rod, with a dark gray 1-by-1 round brick attached to that.
Attach a black 1-by-1 brick to the end of a 2-by-1 stud plate. Place a 1-by-1 brick with a side-mounted single stud in front of this piece. Attach a 1-by-2 vent plate to the top of this. Insert the tail end of the vine whip into the side-mounted stud to complete the laser cannon. Put the unarmed Snowtrooper at the handlebars of this weapon.
Trench Wall
Attach the 4-by-4 L-shaped plate, to the bottom of the gray hollow box, on the end of it. You should have a 2-by-4 plate left uncovered.
Slide a 4-by-4 stud angled plate against the back of the L-plate, so that the angle faces away from the hollow box. Slide a 6-by-6 square plate against the back of the angled plate and the end of the L-plate.
Attach a tall 2-by-2 angled brick to the L-plate so that it joins the angled plate and the L-plate. It should be in the middle of the two neighboring sides. The angle of this brick should face away from the 6-by-6 plate. Attach a second angled brick so that it touches the corner of the other brick, and forms an L-shape, joining the 6-by-6 to the angled plate. The angle of this second brick should face away from the box.
Place 2-by-1 stud angled bricks, short ones, next to the tall angled bricks. On the 6-by-6 plate, make sure its position lines up with the neighboring brick. On the L-plate, place it so that the narrow corner touches the corner of the box, but they do not overlap.
Put a second tall angled brick next to the short one on the 6-by-6 plate. Place another short 2-by-1 brick next to that. They should create a wall facing away from the elbow of the L-plate.
Place a white 1-by-1 brick on top of the 2-by-1, between the tall bricks. On the end of the wall, attach a tan 1-by-1 brick with a front-facing stud.
Place two 1-by-1 angled plates, red, in the middle of the space behind the wall. The angle should face away from the wall, and they should be next to each other, in the middle row there.
Center a white 2-by-2 plate on the red 4-by-2 with two axle spokes. Attach two 2-by-1-stud bricks with Technic holes to the two axles. Place this device on top of the two angled plates, so that the edge of the bricks line up with the back of the 6-by-6 plate.
Repeat the earlier steps to attach another L-plate, without a box, on the other side of the wall. You should use two more tall angled bricks, and one more 2-by-1 brick. The two 2-by-1 bricks should back up against the bench device you made earlier.
Attach 2-by-1 vent plates to the tops of the two red 2-by-1 bricks and the 2-by-1 angled bricks. Place a white 2-by-2 plate on top of the box.
Place 2-by-2 stud L bricks on top of the tall angled bricks on the corners. Join the two bricks, with a brick overhanging inside the wall. Place a 1-by-6 brick along the top of the wall between these two.
Place white angled plates randomly along the top of the wall to give the impression of icicles.
Turret Cannon
Place a white 2-by-2 angled brick on the middle of one side of a 4-by-4 stud plate. Place a 1-by-1 tan brick with a front-mounted stud on either side of this brick, facing the front of the model.
Attach two more 2-by-2 angled bricks on the sides of the plate, behind the tan bricks. Place a third at the back of the model, so they form an X-shape.
Attach a 2-by-4 plate across the front of the model, covering both tan bricks. Place two 2-by-2 white plates along the back, between the two angled bricks.
Attach the tall round shield, the hollow white piece to the 2-by-4 plate. Place a white 2-by-2 plate on the left side, and a 2-by-1 plate on the front-right.
Place the other white shield on top of the white plates. Join the two pieces with a white hinge plate. Attach a 2-by-2 plate and a 2-by-1 plate to the top of this piece to create a 4-by-4 area on top of the model.
Attach two 1-by-4 smooth plates to the top of the swinging shield piece. Place a 2-by-4 plate on top of the stationary shield. Attach the 4-by-4 pivot brick on top of this piece.
Attach the two curved 6-by-4 plates, back-to-back, on top of the round 4-by-4 plate. This is the base of the turret cannon.
Place a 1-by-6 flat plate centered on top of a 4-by-1 brick with front-mounted studs. Attach two 1-by-1 bricks to the overhanging edges of the flat plates. Make two of these units, and attach them to either side of the turret cannon base.
Placea 1-by-1 brick with a technic hole, an angled handle plate, and another 1-by-1 hole brick at the front of the cannon, between the two walls you just made.
Attach a bulb to the end of a Stud-ended Technic rod. Make two of these units. Insert them through the 1-by-1 bricks, and then join them at the end with a 4-hole Technic thin beam. Turn the cannon plate around.
Place two more 1-by-1 hole bricks on either side of a tan angled brick, with the angle facing into the cannon turret's center, between the walls on this side of the model. Place a 2-by-1 brick with a Technic pin in front of the angled brick. Place two more 6-by-1 flat plates so they span the gaps between the two pairs of 1-by-1 hole bricks.
Attach two white robot arm pieces to the long end of the T-connector piece. Insert the narrow end of the T-connector into a large radar dish. Clip the two arms, with the elbows pointing away and the dish on top, to the angled handle plate. Fold this down like a hatch on top of the cannon.
Place a 1-by-2 stud plate in the center of the wall pieces on both sides. Place the four curved bricks on both walls, with the curves pointing away and the plate in the center.
Attach the two gray Technic spacers to the end of a light saber hilt. Clip this onto the front of the cannon piece to complete the cannon muzzle. Attach this to the top of the turret.
Insert a gray rod into the end of a stud-ended Technic pin. Attach a white cone-shaped 1-by-1 round brick onto the end of this piece. Make two units, and slip them into the front of the cannon, on either side of the muzzle.
Attach the turret to the side of the trench wall, the opposite end to the storage box. Attach the ribbed hose between two of the tan 1-by-1 bricks.
