Storage Chest
A storage chest can be used to organize collections of mega Legos that are small and large. Keep in mind, though, that larger collections may require more than one storage chest that you may or may not have room for, so other storage options will need to be explored. Storage chests are purchased with the option of two, three or four drawers. Blocks can be organized by color, shape and size in these chests. Most storage bins have drawers that aren't completely see-through, so if you don't want to dig through drawer after drawer to find blocks, you may want to place labels on each drawer.
Plastic Totes
Plastic totes come in sizes from small to extra-large and will make organizing large and small collections of Legos easier, no matter the size or amount of space you are working with. These plastic totes can be stacked neatly in a closet or underneath a child's bed. These plastic totes are available in different colors, including opaque and clear.
Original Packaging
The Lego company packages its bricks or blocks in a way so that the package has the option of being used as storage. The size of the box or packaging that comes with purchased Legos depends on the number of bricks. These packages are durable plastic made for storing, and many are small enough to stack in a corner or underneath a bed as well. Lego packaging is available in colors for both boys and girls and also features Lego scenes with popular cartoon and movie characters.
Toy Chest
A toy chest isn't the most organized way to store Lego blocks, but it is a way to store them and keep loose Legos off the floor. Some toy chests are made with individual storage bins for small toys inside and may be an option to consider when purchasing a toy chest to hold Legos. Just dumping Legos inside an open storage toy chest will keep children from being able to find blocks without pulling out other toys and creating a bigger mess.
