How to Make a K'Nex Roller Coaster That Works

K'Nex roller coaster models need to be built with precision if they are to work properly. It is best to build them from a K'Nex roller coaster kit to ensure that you have the right parts and instructions to follow. Alternatively, there is a set of instructions for a roller coaster in the Resources section, if you have the parts for a roller coaster but not the documentation.

  Find a flat, smooth surface to build the model on. Solid floor or smooth carpet surfaces are ideal, but the manufacturer encourages users to avoid plush carpets.

  Gather all of the K'Nex pieces together and push the end of each rod down into the top of a connector piece, in order to start assembly according to your instructions. Connect multiple rods and connectors to construct the model.

  Align two connectors so two slots face each other and twist one of the pieces 90 degrees either way. Push the connector slots together to connect the two pieces.

  Complete all instructions in order and ensure that the pegs are inserted into the right connector slots throughout the model.
