LEGO Brick Directions

LEGO is a click and lock brick-based construction toy. Construction sets come with instructions, but you don't have to make the picture on the box. Follow the official directions in a kit, or build something of your choice from the individual bricks. Mix and match bricks from the same range using the directions from each to make a personalized hybrid creation. A free online service for constructing models using LEGO bricks shows you how to make a customized creation from your own design if you need ideas or further inspiration.

  Open your LEGO box, unfold the direction sheet and set out the contents on a flat surface so you can see each piece clearly. Kits can be a mixture of bricks, accessories, building platforms, LEGO people and motorized parts.

  Check the contents against those on the directions. These are usually easy-to-follow photographs so children can understand the instructions. If you have lost your original directions, there are online sources with downloadable PDFs for almost every recently released LEGO kit.

  Follow the step-by-step directions for your construction kit, or use the basics and add your own ideas. Adapt LEGO robot sets for a fun custom project. Take the head instructions for one and build it on the body of another. Find interesting arms and legs and mix things up in a customized creation.
